Master Chin King-Loon is a 20th-generation lineage holder in Chen Family Taijiquan and a certified senior instructor conferred by the Chen Qingzhou Martial Arts Association (accredited by China's Ministry of Education) in Xulu Village, Henan Province, China (birthplace of Tai-Chi). He is a Professor at the California University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Jose, teaching Tai-Chi as part of the Masters program. He is trained intensively on the deep theories of Chen Taiji & Wuji Qigong under Master Wong Wai-Yee and Grand Master Chen Qingzhou (was recognized, in 1994, as one of the twelve outstanding Tai-Chi players in the world). He is also the co-founder and Vice-Chairman of the West Coast Chen Taijiquan Association. Master Chin earned a Bachelor Degree in Arts from the Northern Illinois University, United States.
Master Chin originally began the study of Chinese martial arts (Gong Fu) as a teenager in Hong Kong of China. He began his journey to understand the internal arts by studying different styles of Tai-Chi under the most skillful and experienced Tai-Chi masters since 1979. Having extensive study of both internal and external martial arts, he fell deeply in love with the Chen style Tai-Chi and founded the Traditional Chen Taiji school.
Since then, Master Chin has helped many students to begin a journey of their own and he now spends his time teaching workshops, training students and instructors throughout the Bay Areas of San Francisco, producing instructional DVDs, videos and instructional materials. Through his teaching, Master Chin has helped students to develop a deeper understanding of the principles and philosophy of Tai-Chi that is accessible and valuable to all students and scholars.
Master Chin serves as a Judge at various tournaments and competitions in the Bay Area including the Annual UC Berkeley Chinese Martial Arts Tournament. He was also invited to provide Tai-Chi performances for various events and functions throughout the Bay Area. Master Chin has developed teaching curriculum for universities and programs targeting special health concerns for various health and fitness centers.
Master Chin got media coverage on various events and activities. He was invited to demonstrate Tai-Chi at the California Home, Garden & Design Show at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds on the 27th of Oct, 2017 and was broadcast on some TV channels in the Bay Area. In addition, he was invited to teach workshops at the South Bay Home & Garden Show featuring the KTSF Moon Garden at the Santa Clara Convention Center and was broadcast on KTSF Channel 26 TV station on Friday the 5th of September, 2008. He was also on the cover page of "The Guide" newspaper published on the 29th of July, 2004 with a full page story titled "Senior Campers Get Lean, Mean". He was invited to demonstrate Tai-Chi at the City Hall Open House event of the City of Daly City and was interviewed and broadcast on the news program of the Channel 26 Chinese TV station on the 20th of May, 2003.
Master Chin firmly believes that Tai-Chi are learned disciplines, all you need to do is practice as much as possible. What he looks for in his students is not a great wealth of ability, but a good attitude, a student with discipline and a willingness to learn. Master Chin always encourages his students to extend their study of Tai-Chi beyond the confines of a class setting. He is patience and generous in his teaching style and enjoys creating an atmosphere of collective research through detailed instruction, repetition and practice, as well as discussion and laughter.
Master Chin teaches Tai-Chi skills for universities, counties' community centers, health centers, fitness centers, high-tech companies, and many other private companies.
